Identity Box

Picture
At this point students have learned most of the techniques they will be using for the rest of their time in ceramics. In this project students will research themselves. From this research they will derive the symbolism to represent themselves and their interests. Again students will be pushed to experiment with form, shape, texture and line to create their own unique works of art.

This project  presents a unique challenge to students. Rather than jumping right into building the project, we will have nearly a week between prep and build. In this time, clay projects can easily become too dry to continue working. Students will be trained in long term greenware storage. Those unfortunate enough to have dry projects on their return will complete an alternate build.
