Skull & Human Proportions

Picture
Students have now been introduced to the slab roller. They have learned how to safely operate the roller, transport slabs, and manipulate these slabs. In previous projects students have been experimenting with sculpting forms onto the surface. As students will soon learn these slabs can not only be used flat but can also be shaped around forms.

In this project students will learn how to sculpt a rough human skull along with basic facial proportions. They will also learn to make use of a paper core, cut accurate shapes out of a complex form, and explore the concepts of positive/negative space.

Students are expected to theme their skull. Students often look to their interests or holidays for inspiration.
