Object Reproduction

Picture
Students by now have all the beginner skills needed to proficiently communicate concepts and ideas using clay as a visual medium. Following the theme of personal discovery and improvement of the last couple of projects, students will now analyze their most cherished personal belongings. As a materialistic culture, the items we keep help define who we are as people. Understanding our connections to these objects allow us to better understand ourselves.

To analyze these objects students will come to recognize the difference between facts and truths. Students will practice how to communicate both objectively and subjectively.  Students will use the process of "Trompe L'oeil" in the attempt to fool the viewer's eye into thinking their project is the real thing.
